Causes and Treatments of Obesity
Obesity is one of the most depressing issues all over the world, nowadays. World Health Organization has reported a significant increase in obesity in the recent years. World Health Organization has called it an epidemic. In different countries, about fourty to sixty percent adult population is suffering from the problem of obesity. The most alarming thing about obesity is that it also increases the incidence of other medical problems, as well. For example, obese people are at higher risk for developing problems of high blood pressure, heart stroke, heart attack, diabetes, gallbladder disease and different forms of cancer as compared to healthy people. On the other hand, psychological factors are also associated with obesity. Low confidence and low self esteem are two common examples of those psychological consequences.
There are various causes of obesity in people and some of these causes are quite common. For example, most of the people consume calories in a quantity which is quite higher their normal consumption rate. If these people do not make effort to burn these extra calories, these take the form of fat layer in their bodies. Empirical researches have shown that there can be some genetic causes of obesity in some of the people. For example, metabolism rate is quite low in people with genetic tendencies of becoming fat. Moreover, some of the people are in such kind of jobs where they lead a relatively inactive life. These all are the basic causes of obesity in any individual.
As far as treatments of obesity are concerned, much can be done to reduce the weight of an obese person. The first important thing is the will power of an individual itself. It can be enhanced by communicating the successful weight losses of model figures in the society. It is essential to change the life style of an obese person to bring favorable results. Taking balanced diet is the second essential thing that an individual will have to do. Moreover, including exercising habit in routine will bring effective changes, and it must be maintained lifelong in some cases. In certain condition, one can also go for treatment with medications, it will happen after recommendation of your doctor.
