A guide for treating the obesity
Don't you just hate it when people call you fat or don't like to include you in activities they do merely because you are fat? It's a feeling shared by many people in the world. Being fat has now become a negative word or characteristic of an individual. So what actually fat mean? Fat is the term used for a person, who seems larger than normal in their body size. Many people around us are called fat, but they aren't obese. The two terms are quite different from one another. Obesity is the condition in which extra body fat of individual causes other health problems. These health problems then reduce the life expectancy of the person. The common health problems faced by an obese person are diabetes, heart diseases, cancer, high body cholesterol and osteoarthritis. These health problems are not any minor disease. They can lead to death of an individual.
So it is important to understand the diseases related with obesity and the harm, they can cause to the body for the better treatment of the disease. The main causes of obesity are the unhealthy eating habits, lack of physical activity, genes and lazy lifestyles. Apart from these reasons, another common cause for obesity is the intake of medicines that activates the gland. To treat obesity it is important to analyze the cause behind it.
This disease can be treated without the use of medicine if it is at its initial stage. The most common methods used for treating obesity include the change in the eating habit, increase physical activities and change in the lifestyle. If the level of obesity is greater than medicines are given by the doctors along with the changed lifestyles. The most common and well known medicine prescribed by the doctors for treating obesity is called Orlistat.
Orlistat treats obesity by blocking the action of the enzyme. The enzyme whose function is blocked is used to speed up the chemical reaction in the body that helps in a digestion process. When the enzyme is blocked no chemical reaction takes place, and the food is secreted out through faeces without any absorption. This medicine, however, works best if a proper diet plan is followed by the individual. So it is better and more secure to treat the obesity problem without the use of medicines.
